Notes on the pattern. This is my first serious cable project. In spite of the complexity, I have decided to take a risk to accomplished this project because the pattern is very well written. All sts are clearly defined, which makes it possible for a rookie. While I have made numerous mistakes, the dress is still gorgeous. I look like a “Snow Queen”.
I chose 40” size (even though I am 34”) to have a relaxed fit. Surprisingly, there is not a whole lot of slack. Cables tend to shrink the fabric.
Modifications. I pretty much followed the instructions with the exception that I have casted with a provisional cast on to later knit ribbing to a desired length and make a dress.
Embellishments. There are 2 strings with pom-poms around the neck area and the waist for a fitted look. The neck area turned out a little too loose, so this string is perfect. The Wavy Moss Hat with a giant pom-pom matches well with all embellishments.
